Rockstar Vice President and General Manager Dan Houser broke down why Vice City is the best game in the series. Check out the full interview: Vice City is easily one of the greatest games ever created. A huge part of that is the atmosphere, the gameplay, and the memorable characters. We took a look at the game and asked one of its creators, Dan Houser, the following question: "What was the most challenging part of creating the game? Dan Houser, Vice President and General Manager, Rockstar Games: A big challenge was taking a game that has been around for 15 years and really trying to make sure that it's fresh and new, but also has the same depth that the older games had. Vice City is about being in a city that's busy, about crime, it's about constantly having to think about what's happening around you. So, there were a lot of challenges about making sure it was authentic and new, but yet still conveying what it's like to be in Vice City at that time. It's about the small details that make the experience feel really like you're in the 1980s. Dan Houser on Making Vice City – Bring On the Gangs Bringing The Gangs was one of the most important things we wanted to do with Vice City. It's one of the biggest factors in what makes the game so special. We wanted to create a game where the city was completely alive with a lot of different activities going on and people with a lot of different lifestyles. Vice City is a city that's up for anything, there's a lot of variety in the gameplay, and that was something we wanted to convey as well. The atmosphere was a big part of it.
