Early Morning Lake Trail - Radnor Lake State Park, TN 2020

Waking up at sunrise is worth it to get to this beautiful wraparound lake before the crowds. This is the kind of place that as a kid, I imagined gnomes and fairies would inhabit. The low-set mist hanging in the hillside, the rain pitter-pattering on the tree canopy above your head, and the birds chirping softly all around make these trails feel more like you've stepped into a storybook and less right off the highway.

The Cove Trail takes you off into a more secluded nature loop, but worth it since there's a chance of running into a sweet family of deer, wild turkeys, or just some really gorgeous views off the beaten path. Loop around on the Ganier Ridge trail too for an extra challenge before connecting back onto the Lake Trail. There isn't a trail at Radnor that isn't worth checking out.
